Our secure shopping cart uses the latest secure server technology. Your order is submitted and retrieved with a secure connection to our server and remains secure at all times.  128 bit encryption.  Your credit card information is processed by Paypal.

3.    Q: Can you print jobs that are different than the standard formats that you offer?

Yes, we can print anything. Just send us an email with your requested specs and we will give you a quote.  Email to quote@ambientprinting.com

4.    Q: Do you charge extra for bleeds?

No. Full bleeds are free of charge.

5.    Q: How do I order multiple pieces?

To keep things simple, please place a separate order for each different printed piece you want produced. For example, if you want 2 different 8.5x11 brochures, please place 2 orders. Our prices are already discounted heavily, and we already gang run jobs. So there is no price break for combining different jobs.

6.    Q: Can I pick my own paper type?

We have several different paper types available, depending on the product you are ordering. The individual pricing pages of each product shows available paper options.

7.    Q: How well will my job match what I see on my monitor?

Most people are surprised at how well their job matches what they see. But because of wide differences in monitor calibration and the different technologies used, some printed colors may not exactly match the colors on your specific monitor. It also depends on whether or not your job is printed in four color process, or as a one or two color job. If we print one or two colors, we use PMS (Pantone Matching System) colors, and your colors will match what is shown in the PMS books. This may or may not match what you see on your screen. We suggest purchasing your own PMS books if your color is critical.  Any job that is 3 colors or more will be printed in four color process. Make sure that when you set up your file, you set it up in CMYK – NOT RGB. Note also that PMS colors printed using four color process printing will not match the spot color PMS guide. You must refer to the SWOP or 4 color process PMS book to get an idea as to how the colors will turn out.

8.    Q: Can you match PMS colors?

Yes, we can, but you must specify this in the special instructions when ordering. We usually print most jobs using four color process, as most clients send us files that cannot be color separated for spot color printing. If you want PMS colors to match, you must give us a file that is already separated for spot color, and specify this on the order. We charge an extra $35.00 per color match for PMS matches. This is not shown as an option on the website, and must be handled manually by our customer service dept. We also print all 3 or 4 color jobs using four color process as a standard practice no matter how you send us the file. Again, you can have a PMS match on a 3 or 4 color job, but you must pay extra.  If we print one or two colors, we use PMS (Pantone Matching System) colors, and your colors will match what is shown in the PMS books. This may or may not match what you see on your screen. We suggest purchasing your own PMS books if your color is critical.  Make sure that when you set up your file, you set it up in CMYK – NOT RGB. Note also that PMS colors printed using four color process printing will not match the spot color PMS guide. You must refer to the SWOP or 4 color process PMS book to get an idea as to how the colors will turn out.

9.    Q: Will you match a sample I print out on my own printer, or a previously printed sample?

Because printers and output devices vary wildly, there is no guarantee that your finished piece will approximate your printed sample. Even from one commercial printing firm to another, there can be significant differences in results. In particular, inkjet and laser prints are known to look substantially different than true offset lithography.  We will print from your files, and there is no way we can guarantee it will match a previously printed sample. We will, however, do our best to produce a top-notch piece. The final product we produce for you is unlikely to match the output from your inkjet -- it will look more professional!

10.    Q: How do I place an order and how do I send my artwork to Ambient Printing?

Place your order on the Ambient Printing website following the instructions on the site.  Once your order has been placed and you have received an email confirmation, then please email your artwork to artwork@ambientprinting.com.  Please make sure to include your name, contact details and order number.

11.    Q: How long does it take for me to get the proof of my job?

Once you have placed your order, you should receive a PDF proof from us within 3 business days after we receive your electronic files.

12.    Q: How long will it take to get my order?

Most jobs will be shipped within 5-10 business days after you approve your proof online. We can do rushes if needed. Shipping by UPS takes from 1 to 6 business days to get to you depending on your location. Will I always receive exactly the quantity I order?

13.    Q: What if I want to change something on my order after I've placed it or approved the proof?

Please send an email so we have an electronic paper trail. We will then call or email you to confirm the changes and handle any issues.  If however, the job has already gone into print, it will not be possible to change the job parameters.

14.    Q: How do I view my proof?

We will send you an email with a PDF proof.

15.    Q: Can I send you documents created in MS Word or PowerPoint?

Absolutely! If you have created documents in Word or PowerPoint that contain photos, clip-art, or other color images, be sure to include the photos and images separately.  You can email them to us on artwork@ambientprinting.com.

16.    Q: What other file formats can you take?

We can take any Mac or PC version of Quark, Pagemaker, InDesign, CorelDRAW!, Illustrator, Photoshop, Freehand, Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, any file output as a PDF.

17.    Q: Do I need to impose my business cards 8-up or 10-up if they will be printed more than 1 to a sheet?

No, send us a single layout of your job un imposed, we will handle any imposition needed on our end.

18.    Q: How should I take pictures with my digital camera?

It is very important to make sure that the camera is set to the highest quality setting possible. This means that if you can only save one image on the picture card instead of 12, 64 or 128 images, then this is good! You want to create the best quality picture that the camera can make. This will mean large file sizes and slow downloads from the camera itself, but it will get you the best possible results from your camera. Remember, images should be at 300dpi in their final size in the layout!
